Role and Functions of PAEC

Translating Vision into Institutional Action

Translating Vision into Institutional Action

The Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC) serves as the institutional bridge transforming strategic intent into practical outcomes. Designed as a non-profit public limited organization under SECP Section 42, PAEC brings together government, private sector, and civil society stakeholders to promote structured engagement between Pakistan and Africa.

Through its multi-dimensional functions, the Council fosters trade, investment, technology transfer, and human capital development—creating a platform that ensures inclusivity, accountability, and long-term sustainability in Pakistan–Africa relations.

PAEC operates not as a passive forum but as an active coordination hub, aligning public policies, private ventures, and regional partnerships to unlock shared growth opportunities and sustainable prosperity.

Core Operational Pillars of PAEC

Integrating Trade, Technology, Education, and Diplomacy for Shared Prosperity

Technology Transfer & Innovation
Facilitating R&D cooperation, technology parks, and industrial innovation to modernize production systems and enhance competitiveness.
Education & Skills Development
Promoting scholarships, technical training, and academic exchange programs to strengthen the regional knowledge economy and youth employability.
Cultural Exchange & People-to-People Connectivity
Building trust and collaboration through cultural diplomacy, tourism exchange, and community-driven initiatives.
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
Forging coalitions with regional bodies, financial institutions, and international organizations to advance joint programs and sustainable development goals.

Governance, Implementation, and Sustainable Impact

The governance structure of PAEC ensures transparency, efficiency, and measurable outcomes. The Council is guided by a Board of Directors representing both government and private sector leadership, supported by a Central Executive Committee (CEC) that manages strategic initiatives and operational oversight.

To ensure regional relevance and accessibility, Regional Coordination Offices are being established across key African capitals, enabling continuous engagement with policymakers, chambers of commerce, and business communities.

Funding and support are derived through multi-source financing — including public-private partnerships, development partner contributions, and institutional grants — ensuring PAEC’s long-term sustainability and autonomy.

Through this integrated structure, PAEC transforms vision into measurable impact — driving trade, technology, education, and diplomacy as catalysts of shared prosperity between Pakistan and Africa.
